e-TrailMaps.com was formed in 2003 to address the needs of hikers, mountain bikers and horse riders by developing detailed and up-to-date trail maps that are instantly available for download on this site.

Based in Colorado Springs, along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, e-TrailMaps.com has created a digital delivery system for its detailed trail guides, including digital delivery of waypoints for GPS users. Unlike other trail map websites, trail guides and map vendors, e-TrailMaps.com obtains its trail information using a field GPS device to accurately locate trails and information. Mapmakers then prepare the digital map and waypoint files for upload to the website using this GPS data and topographic base maps.
